The first of its kind, Henley on Food will unite thousands of food lovers with exciting cooks and culinary writers – including some of the UK’s best-loved names – on Saturday 30th April and Sunday 1st May 2016.
Festival-goers will feast on a variety of talks, interactive cookery demonstrations, samplings and wine tastings, pop-up Supper Clubs with innovative chefs, and food-inspired activities for children – all set in the Thames-side grounds of historic Shiplake College. The line-up will include nutritionist to the stars, Madeleine Shaw, who heads to Henley on Food with her second book – READY STEADY GLOW – which is set to be published only days before the event. Toted as a ‘beautiful and accessible cookbook designed for real life’, Madeleine’s new collection comprises nourishing wheat- and sugar-free recipes designed using natural ingredients that can be found in your local supermarket.
Taking a slightly more liberal approach to sugar is Frances Quinn, winner of the BBC’s Great British Bake Off 2013, with her debut cookbook Quinntessential Baking – ‘a treasure trove of ideas to bring a spark of creativity and a teaspoon of wonder into your kitchen’. Already announced to attend is chef, restaurateur and BBC MasterChef host John Torode, with My Kind of Food: Recipes I love to cook at home – a personal book full of the food that he loves to cook and eat, and recipes he likes to make away from the cameras and professional kitchens.
